Type 697 is a matt cloth tape and an inexpensive alternative to type 691. It is water resistant, sticks good on different surfaces and it is easy to tear by hand.
It is used especially for on stage and back stage jobs in the theatre, opera etc. It is also used for temporarily fixing of cables on carpets etc. and for marking floors.
